తుంగతుర్తి: దివంగత కాంగ్రెస్ నేత, మాజీ మంత్రి రాంరెడ్డి దామోదర్ రెడ్డి చేసిన ప్రజా సేవకు గౌరవ సూచకంగా ఎస్సార్ఎస్పీ స్టేజ్-2కు ఆయన పేరును పెడుతున్నట్లు సీఎం రేవంత్ రెడ్డి ప్రకటించారు. తుంగతుర్తిలో ఆదివారం జరిగిన రాంరెడ్డి దామోదర్ రెడ్డి సంస్మరణ సభలో ముఖ్యమంత్రి పాల్గొని ఆయన సేవలను స్మరించుకున్నారు.
ఈ సందర్భంగా రేవంత్ రెడ్డి మాట్లాడుతూ, ‘రాంరెడ్డి దామోదర్ రెడ్డి మరణం అత్యంత బాధాకరం. పార్టీ కోసం, కార్యకర్తల కోసం తన సొంత ఆస్తులను త్యాగం చేసిన నిస్వార్థ నాయకుడు. ఐదు సార్లు శాసనసభ్యుడిగా, మంత్రిగా ప్రజల అభ్యున్నతికి కృషి చేశారు. ఖమ్మం, నల్గొండ జిల్లాల్లో వేల ఎకరాల భూములను ప్రజా ప్రయోజనాల కోసం అర్పించారు. ఫ్లోరైడ్ సమస్యతో బాధపడుతున్న నల్గొండ ప్రాంతాలకు గోదావరి జలాలు తరలించేందుకు దామోదర్ రెడ్డి అలుపెరుగని పోరాటం చేశారు. ఆయన కృషి ఫలితంగానే శ్రీరాం సాగర్ ప్రాజెక్ట్ స్టేజ్-2 ద్వారా నల్గొండ జిల్లాకు గోదావరి నీరు అందించే ఏర్పాటు జరిగింది. ఆయన చేసిన నిస్వార్థ ప్రజా సేవలకు గుర్తింపుగా ఎస్సార్ఎస్పీ స్టేజ్-2కు ‘రాంరెడ్డి దామోదర్ రెడ్డి ఎస్సార్ఎస్పీ-2’ అని పేరు పెట్టడం సముచితం. ఆయనకు లభించే నిజమైన గౌరవం,” అని పేర్కొన్నారు. ఇందుకు సంబంధించి జీవోను కూడా జారీ చేస్తామని సీఎం వెల్లడించారు.
Tungatturthi: Chief Minister Shri A. Revanth Reddy announced that the SRSP Stage-2 project will be named after the late leader Ramreddy Damodar Reddy, as Ramreddy Damodar Reddy SRSP-2. The Chief Minister attended the memorial meeting of former Minister Ramreddy Damodar Reddy held in Tungaturthi and paid rich tributes to him.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said, “The demise of Ramreddy Damodar Reddy garu is deeply saddening. He was a selfless and dedicated leader who sacrificed his own properties for the welfare of the party and its workers. Having served five times as MLA and as a Minister, he devoted his life to public service and donated thousands of acres of inherited land in Khammam and Nalgonda districts for community benefit.
He relentlessly fought to bring Godavari waters to the fluoride-affected areas of Nalgonda. Through his determined efforts and sustained pressure on the then government, the Sri Ram Sagar Project (SRSP) Stage-2 was initiated to ensure Godavari waters reached Nalgonda district.
Naming the SRSP Stage-2 after Ramreddy Damodar Reddy garu is a fitting tribute to his dedication, vision, and lifelong service to the people,” the Chief Minister said.
